Andrew's background is in marketing, and he worked for several companies before co-founding Bare Kind. 'I've always been interested in sustainability and wildlife conservation.'
Bare Kind is a sustainable brand that designs and produces eco-friendly bamboo socks adorned with vibrant illustrations of endangered animals. 'We ensure ethical sourcing, minimal environmental impact, and a transparent donation model that lets customers know exactly how their purchase contributes to conservation efforts.'
One of the biggest challenges Andrew faced was breaking through the noise in a market saturated with brands claiming sustainability. 'To overcome this, we focused on authenticity and community engagement.'

In a business where trust is as valuable as the diamonds themselves, Johanne Rindom has built a reputation for showcasing the work of over 50 independent designer brands at That Thing Collective Ltd. 'I started my own fashion brand whilst still at Uni, and then set up shop in 2008. I really struggled to find anywhere to sell my brand, and back in the early 2000's there wasn't the social media or selling platforms around that we know today.'
Johanne grew up in Denmark and came to the UK in her late teens to study Fine art at University West of England. Her keen interest in fashion and textiles led her to start her own fashion brand while still at university. 'I've always been into the arts, and I think that's what drew me to fashion and textiles.'
That Thing is an Independent Lifestyle store with a passion for showcasing the work of over 50 independent designer brands. Housing quality, hand-picked products spanning Clothing, Jewellery, Accessories, Homewares, Cards, Gifts and more. 'The aesthetic of the store - 100%! I really pride myself on the visual aspect of the shop, and the brands I carefully choose to sit within it.'
One of the biggest challenges Johanne faced was a lawsuit from the Inditex group, which led to a costly and time-consuming process. 'It was an incredibly costly, time-consuming and a severely anxious period of my life.' However, she persevered and rebranded the store as That Thing in 2015.
Johanne's proudest achievement is the longevity and ability to adapt. 'The fact that my store recently turned 16, standing the testament of time, is hands down what I'm most proud of.'
