Otto, a key player in Germany's e-commerce arena, is planning to alter the seller fees on its digital marketplace. The changed fee structure will see the basic fee for third-party sellers rising from 39.9 euros per month to 99.9 euros. Otto's assertion for the considerable fee change is due to an increase in low-quality goods flooding its marketplace. Earlier fee adjustments primarily focused on commissions, which were escalated from 8 percent to 15 percent for household electronics. The new fee structure, set to commence on 1st August, will be applicable to various product categories.

The scheduled adjustment to the commissions structure will instigate significant changes in particular product sectors. There will be a substantial rise in commissions for technology add-ons, and hardware store items will experience a climb from 7 to 13 percent.
